Project Goals and Description:

Mobile Augmented Reality (AR) has been gaining significant popularity in recent years. It provides a seamless interactive experience between real and virtual objects by rendering a virtual object or overlaying a segmented image in the physical scene.  In this project, students will explore the state-of-the-art research issues in this field, such as limitations imposed by computation, latency, energy/battery utilization, and storage availability, will also be explored. The focus will be on developing algorithms and software that will enable a proper multi-user augmented reality experience with the limited resources available on the phone.
