Robotic Swarm Autonomy for Emergency Response

The project will focus on developing a software system to enable a swarm of robots to be quickly deployed in an indoor environments to support emergency response. The applicant will work with Dr. Zhang, PhD students and domain experts to design software systems for robotic swarm autonomy in emergency response applications.

Student Preparation


Qualifications

Programming in C++ or Python in Linux OS. Knowledge on Robot Operating System is preferred.

Time Commitment

25-30 hours/month

Skills/Techniques Gained

Knowledge and design on algorithms and software systems for intelligent robots.

Mentoring Plan

Students will be included in a big team working with both faculty and graduate students, though individual tasks will be assigned to the URF students.
