Starting a New Organization

  • STEPS TO ESTABLISHING A NEW ORGANIZATION
    • Check orgs.mines.edu and browse the list of current active organizations on campus to make sure the organization is not currently in existence and that there is not an organization with the same mission, goals, and service provided to Mines
    • Collect the names and email addresses of at least 10 interested students who wish to become members.
    • Collect the name and email address of a Mines staff/faculty member interested in serving as the advisor for the organization
    • Create a set of bylaws for your organization  (sample bylaws can be found below)
    • Review the SAIL RSO Handbook.
    • The request form to make a new organization is closed at this time as we transition to our new system. Check back for more information soon!

Requests for new organizations will be reviewed at least once per semester. Submit the form before February 1st to be considered for Spring or before October 1st to be considered for Fall. After the review has been completed, and if your organization is approved, you will be referred to your governing body for possible funding.
