Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship

Florence Caldwell In 1898, Florence Caldwell became the first woman to graduate from Colorado School of Mines.  One hundred and twenty years later, over 6000 women have followed in her footsteps.  As part of this important legacy, Colorado School of Mines sponsors the Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship Program.  Scholarships are awarded to three incoming first-year students who demonstrate a commitment to the legacy and ideals of Florence Caldwell. Applications are available in December through the Admissions Office.

The Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship covers tuition, books, and fees for four years and is valued at approximately $79,544 over this period of time. The Grace McDermut Scholarship covers tuition and fees for four years and is valued at approximately $73,544. The Ninetta Davis Scholarship covers tuition for four years and is valued at approximately $64,680.

 

Scholarship Application Criteria

  • Must be a Colorado resident
  • Must plan to attend Mines beginning the fall semester after graduation.
  • Must meet minimum GPA and SAT/ACT requirements, set annually by the Admissions Office.
  • Must be accepted to Colorado School of Mines.
