Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship

History

In 1898, Florence Caldwell became the first woman to graduate from Colorado School of Mines. One hundred and twenty years later, over 6000 women have followed in her footsteps. As part of this important legacy, Colorado School of Mines sponsors the Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship Program. Scholarships are awarded to three incoming first-year students who demonstrate a commitment to the legacy and ideals of Florence Caldwell. Applications are available in January through the Financial Aid office.

The Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship covers tuition, books, and fees for four years. The Grace McDermut Scholarship covers tuition and fees for four years. The Ninetta Davis Scholarship covers tuition for four years of undergraduate course work.

Finalists will automatically be considered for the Vanguard program.

Scholarship Application Criteria

Must be a Colorado resident
Must plan to attend Mines beginning the fall semester after graduation
Must meet minimum GPA requirements, set annually by the Admissions Office
Recipients must utilize Colorado Opportunity Funds (COF) along with scholarship
