Rubecca Martinez Dalton ’06

A college prep program inspired Rubecca Martinez Dalton to pursue an engineering degree by helping her realize STEM is something anyone can study. Now a welding engineer, she realized how much having access to that program influenced her and wanted to give back. She helps give other women the same opportunities and exposure to STEM that she did by sponsoring high school girls to attend STEM conferences and programs. “Engineering is a really good place—there are a lot of talented women coming up in the ranks, and it’s so inspiring to see,” Dalton said. “Giving high school girls access to a mentor program and normalizing that there are women in the field is a step in the right direction.”
