Women of Mines Alumni Interest Group

To build on the successes of Mines’ programs, organizations and initiatives to encourage women to commit to a STEM education and becoming an Oredigger, the Mines Alumni Association started a Women of Mines interest group.

Led by Mines alumnae with members from Admissions, Academic Affairs, WISEM and other areas on campus, the group works to strengthen diversity and make sure newly accepted women students feel welcome at Mines. The interest group works in cooperation with the Admissions Office to recruit prospective women students and to engage them by inviting young women to hear alumnae talk about their experiences as a Mines student and where their Mines degree took them after graduation. The group will also support scholarship opportunities for women students and other forms of encouragement to ensure that all women succeed at Mines and beyond.

“The most rewarding part of attending Mines is the response I get from those who learn I where I got my degree. They immediately know what kind of work ethic I have, and they know I learned from the best of the best.”
