Personal:

I’ve always been the kind of person that wants to try different things. In my work experience, I have worked at with law enforcement, public libraries, human resources, international affairs, education abroad, administrative work, career advising, and academic advising. Getting to know students is what drives me in higher education. I’ve had numerous appointments where I have met with students to just chat about life (I’ve had appointments to show me birthday pictures, to introduce me to newborn babies, while students are on vacation, to talk about anime, and so much more).

My philosophy in higher education is that I am “person-centered,” and not “student-centered.” Each person is so much more than just a student, so I spend a lot of time getting to know the person behind the student. Be prepared for random questions because of this philosophy!

I enjoy getting to know students and what drives them. Professionally, I enjoy discussing study abroad and “next-steps” for students after graduation (careers, graduate school, military, etc.). Personally, I enjoy streaming on Twitch, watching anime, Pokemon, cooking, exploring new restaurants, traveling, card games (currently learning MTG), and hanging out with friends. If you are into anything nerdy, please come talk to me!!
