MAJOR ADVISING

As a student who has declared their major, you’ll receive advising from your CASA major advisor as well as a faculty mentor in your academic department. Including yourself, this trio encourages holistic academic success and understanding of your curricular needs within your time at Mines in addition to your experiential and career opportunities.

  • All Students: To find your current advisor, log into your Trailhead account and select Student on the left hand side of the screen. Click on Student Self-Service and then click on Student profile.
Applied Mathematics & Statistics
    • Advising Details
      • Group Advising: Thursday March 16th from 3:00pm-4:30pm in CH 143
        • Sign up required (sign up link will be shared via AMS mailing list)
        • During group advising, students will receive information about the AMS curriculum, electives being offered this semester, special topics courses, and can ask questions. Students will be asked to bring their laptops and will have the opportunity to check their degree evaluations and build their schedules in GEODE with assistance from the department

  • Advising Details
    • All declared students must meet with faculty advisor to receive a registration pin. Students may schedule a meeting with the CASA advisor for biochemistry, Jennie Gambach, prior to or after their faculty advising meeting if desired

      Quantitative Bioscience and Engineering

        • The QBE program will be hosting group advising information sessions for QBE majors: March 15th at 5:00pm
          • Registraton required. Click here to register. 
          • Required for all QBE majors who are in their sophomore year and up.
          • We will review the Spring course offerings for QBE and the semester-by-semester plan.
          • Answer any questions you may have.
        • Students with lingering questions after the last advising sessions can schedule an advising appointment with Jennie Gambach or Josh Ramey.

        • Required for all QBE declared students (2nd year and up). To get your registration pin you must attend the group advising session (info above). If you are unable to attend, you may watch the recording.
          • Registration pins will be emailed to all students that attended the session.

        • FIRST YEAR STUDENTS: You are welcome at the group advising meeting (see above) and encouraged to see your first-year advisor with scheduling questions.
      ADA Accessibility: CASA’s new location in Aspen Hall, 1869 W. Campus Rd., is not ADA accessible. If you require ADA accessibility, we are happy to work with you! Please consider scheduling an online appointment or e-mailing casa@mines.edu 48 hours in advance to set up an appointment in a common ADA accessible area on campus.
