Noyce Scholarship & Stipend Program
Competitive award, must apply every semester you are seeking an award
- Undergraduate scholarships:
- $12,500/semester for in-state students, $15,000/semester for out-of-state students
- Maximum of six semesters allowed (due to the competitive nature of this award, it’s unlikely any one student will receive more than 2-3 semesters of support)
- Must have completed 60+ credits before receiving an award
- For each semester of support, recipients are required to complete one year of teaching in a high-need school district (most districts qualify as high-need) within eight (8) years of earning their teaching license.
- Graduate student stipend:
- $12,500/semester
- Maximum of two semesters.
- Can be prorated for part-time students
- Must have completed bachelor’s degree
- For each semester of support, recipients are required to complete one year of teaching in a high-need school district (most districts qualify as high-need) within (4) years of earning their teaching license.
A high-needs school district is one that has at least one elementary or secondary school characterized by at least one of the following: a high percentage of individuals from families with incomes below the poverty line; a high percentage of secondary school teachers not teaching in the content area in which they were trained to teach; or a high teacher turnover rate. Many school districts in Colorado meet at least one of these criteria (last year 164/179 of school districts qualified), and we will work with you to identify districts that meet the requirements. However, if the teaching obligation in such a school district is not met within the required years of completing the teacher preparation program, the scholarship converts to a student loan, appreciates interest, and must be repaid in full.
