Degree Evaluation in Degree Works
1. Contact academic advisor for assistance regarding the degree progress by reviewing the Degree Evaluation in Degree Works before submitting a Course Exception form. 2. Look for requirements of core or elective courses that are showing as "Not Complete" in the degree evaluation in Degree Works. These will be indicated by a red circle (see legend at the bottom of the degree evaluation) NOTE: If a student is in a degree program that has multiple emphasis areas, they need to be sure to only apply course exceptions to just the one area that was approved by the academic department/advisor.
3. For each course exception, provide the name or title of the area where it needs to be applied. That is the text to the right of the red circle. NOTE: It may be a specific course title or an emphasis area or a group of electives not met where additional credits are still needed. 4. When entering MINES course exception information below, some students may not have a specific course that needs to be substituted since they are fulfilling general electives requirements where no specific course is listed as required. In these cases, leave the required or elective courses box blank.
