Photo Grid
The Photo Grid content type displays a collection of up to 11 images in a grid layout that combines larger and smaller images. Unlike a traditional image gallery, which displays images in uniform rows, the Photo Grid uses varying image sizes to create a more visually interesting layout.
This content type works well for showcasing campus facilities, department activities, student experiences, research projects, events or other collections of related photos. It is a good option when you want to feature photography as part of a page without adding individual images throughout the content.
Images are displayed without accompanying text, captions or links. The Photo Grid is intended to be a visual component rather than a navigation tool, so visitors cannot use the images to link to other pages or websites.
When adding images, use high-quality photos that represent your department or program. Because the layout includes images of different sizes, pay attention to how each photo is cropped and positioned. Images with important details near the edges may not display well in every grid position.
Be sure to include appropriate alternative text for each image to meet accessibility requirements. Avoid using multiple images that are too similar, and select photos that work well together to give visitors a broader view of the subject.
The Photo Grid is best used when the images themselves are the focus of the content.
